His passion for service and leadership was nurtured from a young age, culminating in a four-year football scholarship to Lindsey Wilson College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services in 1995. Representing the Cayman Islands in national football teams since age 10, Michael's dedication to teamwork and discipline has been a hallmark of his career.
With 35 years of experience addressing the needs of families and youth, Michael began as a Social Worker Intern at the Department of Social Services and advanced to leadership roles, including Team Leader at the Cayman Islands Marine Institute, House Manager at Bonaventure Boys Home and At-Risk Youth Coordinator at the Ministry of Education.
His visionary approach led to impactful initiatives, like the Behaviour and Education Support Teams, Extended After School and Youth ACT, and has positively impacted over 4000 youth.
In 2019, Michael founded Inspire Cayman Training Limited to bridge gaps in Technical Vocational Education and Training. Under his leadership, ICT has become an accredited training center, equipping over 800 of Cayman’s youth for sustainable careers.
Michael’s unwavering commitment has raised over $5 million for youth development. He believes that his extensive experience in community service positions him well to advocate for the needs of the people of Prospect and across the Cayman Islands.
