The Cayman Islands National Party (CINP) is proud to welcome Dawn Thomas as its newest candidate for the 2025 general election. A seasoned executive, entrepreneur and community leader, Dawn is running to represent Red Bay, bringing over 30 years of expertise in business transformation, technology, and project management to the political arena.
“Caymanians are facing serious challenges, from the rising cost of living to job opportunities and the need for greater transparency in government. As part of the Cayman Islands National Party I am committed to working towards a more unified, prosperous, and hopeful Cayman Islands. I will dedicate my skills and experience to building a brighter future for our people,” she said. “We deserve transparent, accountable and community-focused leadership, and I am committed to diligently addressing the challenges facing our community and creating opportunities for all Caymanian citizens.”
Dawn’s roots run deep in the Cayman Islands. Her biological father, Don Smith, lived in Boatswain Bay, West Bay, prior to his passing, while her father figure, Regal Jackson, of Creek, Cayman Brac, played a significant role in her upbringing from the age of six. Her mother, Carol Jackson, resides in George Town, and over the years, Dawn lived in Savannah before settling in Red Bay, the community she now proudly calls home. Through her upbringing and personal experiences, Dawn has gained a broad understanding of the diverse needs and perspectives within the Cayman Islands.
With a distinguished career spanning many sectors across financial services, legal, technology, and insurance, Dawn has led large-scale transformation initiatives at major firms, including Walkers, Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas, and Fortis Prime Fund Solutions. As the founder and director of multiple businesses, she consults for companies seeking to enhance efficiency, integrate technology, and navigate change. Dawn holds a Master’s in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Tampa.
Dawn joins a dynamic slate of CINP candidates dedicated to transformational leadership, economic opportunity, and good governance. The CINP is focused on addressing key issues facing the Cayman Islands, including the cost of living, job opportunities for Caymanian citizens, border security and government accountability.
